A funeral service celebrating the life of Joan Lee Thomas, 58, of Hebron, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2007 in the chapel of the Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville, with

Joan died Tuesday morning at Newark following an extended illness. She was born in Columbus, on April 13, 1949, the daughter of the late Joseph M. and Ruby Sharp Thomas. She was a graduate of Millersport High School, Class of 1968. Joan had worked for the Ohio Department of Taxation for many years in Columbus.

She was an avid collector of cabbage patch dolls, loved to cross-stitch and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She was especially fond of her frequent outings to McDonald's in Hebron with her father.

She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Joseph (Patty) Thomas of Millersport, Rick (Betty) Thomas of Galloway, Shirley Frost of Grove City and Judy (Mike) Houston of Lockbourne; and many nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, 285 E Main St in Kirkersville, where an on-line video tribute and guest register is available at www. Hoskinsonfuneral.com. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy in the form of memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, New York 10006.
