Henry "Hank" Ball

A celebration of life service for Henry "Hank" Ball, 61, of Hebron, will be at noon Friday at Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, Newark, with Pastor Chris Williams and Father Robert Penhallurick officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, where the Licking County Veterans Alliance will provide military honors.

Hank was born Aug. 4, 1946, in Mount Vernon. He was carried by angels to our Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio.

Hank graduated from Centerburg High School in 1965. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He retired from government service after working at the Newark Air Force Base for 31 years as a branch division chief. He also worked at Boeing as an electronics technician, having 10 years of service.

A devoted family man, Hank enjoyed golfingand making wine. Hank taught many people the art of making wine as his father had taught him. To those who knew him, his love and generosity knew no bounds.

He is survived by his mother, Roma (Adkins) Ball, of Centerburg; his loving wife, Christina Haines-Ball; two daughters, Theresa Westbrook and Nicole Fitzsimmons; two stepdaughters, Melissa Clendenin and Marla McGraw; five grandchildren, Kevin Minton, Michael Clendenin, Lacey Westbrook, Hunter Westbrook and Jonah Fitzsimmons; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Hank was preceded in death by his father, Paul Ball; and one brother, Fred Ball.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 179 Granville St., Newark.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, OH 43055. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
