Gerald W. Boring

A memorial service for Gerald W. Boring, 67, of Thornville, will be at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr and Chute Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Robert L. Knox officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 1850 W. Main St., Newark. Moose Lodge will conduct services at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Boring died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born June 28, 1940, in Newark, to the late Carl and Fern (Flenner) Boring.

Mr. Boring retired from Honeywell Securities in Columbus. He was a member of the Buckeye Lake Moose Lodge 2434, Newark Moose Lodge 499, Thornville Post 51 Amvets, Newark Eagles 387 and Faith United Methodist Church. He loved spending time boating, fishing and traveling.

He is survived by his companion of 38 years, Judy Marshall; daughter, Jennifer (Keith) Warnick, of Worthington; sons, Josh Boring, of Petersburg, Ind., Jeremy Boring, of Pickerington, and Justin Boring, of Whitehall; sister, Norma Shade, of Thornport; grandchildren, Emily Warnick, Kelly Warnick, Brian Warnick, Jimmy Boring, Jessica Boring, Katie Boring and Morgan Boring.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kayla.
