Slaters thank village for street dedication

While driving through Buckeye Lake on Sunday I saw the new sign for the Charles E. Slater Memorial Boulevard. I was really impressed and know that the picture of the Blue Heron is what would impress the "Mayor".

In his retirement years, he put every moment of his life into making Buckeye Lake an enjoyable place to live or visit. We all remember him picking up trash or shoveling gravel into a hole in the street. He was dedicated to the rebuilding of Buckeye Lake village.

I would like to thank all the people of Buckeye Lake, from the citizens to the Village Council, Mayor Frank Foster and former Mayor Jim Bartoe for their recognition of the first Mayor of Buckeye Lake, "Mayor Charles E. Slater".
