Lillian Blanche "Emch" Smyers-Hendershot

Lillian Blanche "Emch" Smyers Hendershot, 90, of Baltimore, passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at Crestview Nursing Home.

She was born north of Baltimore on June 30, 1917, to John and Hattie (Rauch) Emch.

Lillian was a 1935 graduate of Liberty Union High School. She also attended Mauger oneroom school house in Liberty Township. She was a devoted member of the New Zion United Methodist Church, Baltimore, and attended there since birth. She was the church pianist and a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a member of the Baltimore Senior Citizens.

She is survived by the Hendershot family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Roy W. Hendershot and Louis Smyers; and infant brother, John Henry.

Services were Oct. 3, 2007, at the New Zion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nancy Draves officiating. Burial followed at Union Evangelical Cemetery on Snyder Church Road.
