Dorothy M. Lamb
Dorothy M. Lamb, 92 of Baltimore, died Monday, October 1, 2007, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. She was a retired nurses aide.
She is survived by her daughters, Rosie (David) Landis of Baltimore and Mary Lamb of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Davie (Ronda) Landis, Jim (Tammy) Landis, Tom (Laura) Landis, Lisa Smith, Tracy Cannady, and Ty (Teresa) Smith; 16 great grandchildren, two great great granddaughters; step-children, Joseph (Joann) Nicodemus, Richard (Bonnie) Nicodemus, and Floyd Nicodemus; nine step-grandchildren; several step-great grandchildren; several step-great great grandchildren; step-daughter-inlaw, Ann Nicodemus; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Sayre, A. L. Nicodemus, and H. Ross Lamb; step-son, Norman Nicodemus; step-grandson, Monte Nicodemus; parents, Thomas and Eva Withers; and brother, Ralph Withers.
Funeral service was held October 3, 2007, in the Johnson- Smith Funeral Home Chapel, 207 S. Main St., Baltimore with Pastor Michael Herbert of Walnut Creek Baptist Church officiating. John Robert "Bob" Pickens
John Robert "Bob" Pickens Sr., 68, of Thurston, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007.
He was born Oct. 1, 1938, to the late John F. and Marie Nott Pickens. Bob was a simple man who loved music and bowling with his buddies. He was a United States Navy veteran on the USS Coral Sea and served in the Panama Canal Conflict.He was a member of the American Legion Post 11, Buckeye Lake Eagles 2801, Teamsters Local 413 and was a retired truck driver for the Kroger Co. with 40 years of service.
He is survived by his sons, John (Tammy) Pickens Jr. of Groveport and Keith (fianceé Melissa) Pickens of Baltimore; daughter, Chanin (Scott) Tate of Lowgap, N.C.; grandchildren, Matthew (Julie), Jessica, Ryan, Brandon, Haley, Briana, Bobby, and Olivia; great-grandson, Ridge; former wife, Evalena and her children and grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Sherbourne, Carol Black, Judy (Tom) Buscemi and Katy Kurash; brother-in-law, Don Dreher; special friend, Woody Phillips; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Buddy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jeremy John Pickens; sister, Mary Dreher; and nephew, Joshua Pearson.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel and Crematory, 405 N. Columbus St., Lancaster, with Mr. Philip Momburg officiating.
Friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 p.m.Thursday at the funeral home. Caring Cremation will follow. Memorial gifts may be given to the family c/o the funeral home.
