Donald Dean Capelle
A funeral service celebrating the life of Donald Dean Capelle, 75, of Buckeye Lake was held August 27, 2007, in the Chapel of the Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville, with Pastor Timothy Ahrens officiating. The Columbus Maennerchor and Swiss Club sang immediately prior to the service.
Don died suddenly Friday morning while undergoing emergency surgery at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born in Columbus on October 3, 1931, the son of the late Nelson and Mabel Loar Capelle.
He was a graduate of the Columbia University, with a degree in art history. He was a long-time employee of the Dispatch Printing Company, where he worked in advertising.
An accomplished artist, musician and singer, he enjoyed his associations with the Columbus Maennerchor, Swiss club singers and the choir at the First Congregational Church, Columbus, where he was also a member. He was also a member of the Buckeye Lake Yacht Club and the Buckeye Lake Historical Society.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his life partner, Mark Schultz in 1997.
He is survived by his cousins, Bob & Sara Loar of Columbus, Rob Loar of Sunbury and Martha Dickson of Columbus; his housemates and close friends, Doug and Jason; and a host of friends and acquaintances in Columbus and at Buckeye Lake.

His friends have requested that expressions of sympathy in the form of memorial contributions be made to help defray his final expenses.
