Benefit for Linda Thompson set for Sept. 21

HEBRON - Friends of Linda and Rick Thompson are planning a Luau Benefit Bash for Linda on Friday, Sept. 21 at the Harbor Hills Country Club.

Linda, long-time Harbor Hills Country Club manager and Harbor Hills resident, suffered a severe and debilitating stroke on July 5. Her long hospitalization and continuing rehabilitation is putting severe strains on their 80/20 capped health insurance policy. Rick and Linda are facing a mountain of medical bills and other expenses.

The evening starts out at 4:30 p.m. with an Early Bird Dinner with the main dinner beginning at 6 p.m. The dinner, presented by 'After 6' Catering and the 19th Hole Club, is just $15 per person or $25 per couple. Everything has been donated so 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Thompsons. The menu is Teriyaki and Italian chicken breasts, prime rib, fresh vegetable medley, potatoes, garden salad and beverages. A beer truck will be on the grounds.

There will be entertainment inside and outside the clubhouse. In the ballroom, DJ Don's Mobile Music will be spinning favorite dance hits. Outside in the grand tent, provided by Main Events Party Rental, the nine-member Eddie Pollina Band entertains.

The evening includes both silent and live auctions. Organizers expect to have more than 100 items valued at $50 or more. Already there are a Buckeye tickets, restaurant gift certificatesand plenty of golf items. There is a separate drawing for an electric golf cart donated by Mid Ohio Golf Car. Tickets are $10 each or seven for $50. The drawing will be at 11 p.m., but the winner doesn't need to be present. There will also be a 50:50 drawing that evening.

Friends are asking for RSVP's by Sept. 14. Please drop off your registration at Harbor Hills County Club or mail it to the club at 225 Freeman Memorial Drive, Hebron, OH 43025, Attention Kathy Brush.
