Martial arts championship coming to Lakewood

NEWARK - Last month, two members of the Annarino's Martial Arts School brought room some prizes.

Joe Studder competed in the NAGA Ohio Championship in Grove City, bringing home the silver medal in the Master's Heavyweight White Belt Division.

Allyson Smith traveled to Ravenswood, W. Va. to compete in the West Virginia State Tournament. She competed in the Young Ladies advance division for 10-12 year olds bringing home gold in randori and grappling, silver in forms, sparring and bronze in weapons.

Rahman Howard, a 4th degree purple belt under the Relson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu family, recently joined the school as an instructor. Jiu-Jitsu is offered every Tuesday and Thursday starting at 6:30pm. Every new student receives one complementary class.
