      JACKSONTOWN - Residents of The Woods subdivision again asked Licking Township Trustees Monday night to address their complaints about parking, noise, disorderly conduct and reckless driving caused by patrons of Captain Woody's bar.

Commission approves development, but not bridge
      BUCKEYE LAKE- The Buckeye Lake Planning Commission unanimously approved a new development called The Landings at Maple Bay, but acknowledged that the design of a proposed Hunts Landing Road bridge slated to cross the development's feeder canal needs some work.

Millersport taking cautious stance on water talks
      MILLERSPORT - Some village officials expressed reservations July 10 about once again talking about the sale of bulk water to the Village of Buckeye Lake. Judge elected trustee
      NEW LEXINGTON - Judge Luann Cooperrider, Perry County Probate and Juvenile Court Judge, has been elected trustee for the Ohio Association of Juvenile Court Judges. She will represent District Seven, which is comprised of 13 counties in Southeastern Ohio. Judge Cooperrider has served in all officesof the Association, including president in 2004.

Trustees asked to ban jake brakes
      HEBRON- A Union Township resident, who's tired of having his windows rattled by trucks' engine brakes, asked the Union Township Trustees if they could do anything to stop the noise. Bill Garrett, who lives near the intersection of Ohio 37 and US 40, told the trustees Monday night that trucks are using loud engine brakes to slow down as they approach the busy intersection.

Terrorist attack exercise needs volunteers
      MILLERSPORT- Don't panic! A mock August terrorist incident will only be a test of Buckeye Lake Area emergency services, but the need for volunteers is very real. Fairfield, Licking, and Perry counties are conducting a full-scale homeland security terrorist incident exercise with mock emergencies held in Thornville, Buckeye Lake North Shore, and the FairfieldBeach area.

      BUCKEYE LAKE - Buckeye Lake Area Civic Association's 22nd Annual Tour of Homes is set for Sunday, August 12. This year's tour features homes that are built on and form a part of the lake's infamous 4.5 mile earthen dam. Tour boats will depart from the Liebs Island boat launching area beginning at noon. The last boat departs at 3 p.m.
