More Letters: Childrens burn unit poker run supporters thanked

We would like to send a HUGE THANK YOU to AMVETS Post 51 for hosting the poker run to benefit the Childrens Hospital Burn Unit! We had a record run and could have not done it without all the help we received from workers who helped - Steve & Karn Marondo, Rick & Terri Nichols, Bud Springer, the DJs-Rick and Terri Dupler, Mr. Skinny, Commander Butch and all the others who helped plus generous neighbors and friends who donated so much time and money.

We had JoAnne McFarland and Mike & Randi Willie put it all together for us on paper which is a big part of getting it off the ground. Thanks to Marty Springer who helped publicize it.

Michelle Glenn has always been a big part of this event. She brought it to us at the Beachcomber where we had our first run. The Sons of the AMVETS prepared and served the food for us which was a great help. (We used to have to do it all). And our ever present guardian angel, Julie Clemens (the quiet one), came through again, helping to serve the food and dowing whatever needed done. She is always at these events, ready to help out.

A special thanks to photographer Steve Sweazy for coming out and help us preserve all the special moments with his beautiful work. There are "sooo many" people who make this happen that if we tried to mention ev- eryone we would probably leave someone out and that would be terrible. So that's why we called this the HUGE THANK YOU!

What a great place to live and what a great bunch of people. We love you guys.
