Nature meets symphony

JACKSONTOWN - The Columbus Symphony Orchestra returns for the sixth year in a row to The Dawes Arboretum on Sunday, July 8.

The outdoor concert begins at 8:15 p.m. with concert gates opening at 4 p.m. for picnicking. Following the concert, a fireworks show will light up the sky. There is no rain date scheduled for this performance.

Conducted by Albert-Georg Schram, the concert will feature songs from movies like Superman and Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone. Schram is a native of the Netherlands and has been with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra since 1979. He is an audience favorite for all of the series he conducts, including Pops and the CSO summer series.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $12.50 at the gate. Tickets may be purchased by calling The Dawes Arboretum at 800-443-2937 or 740-323-2355. Children 2 and under may attend the show free of charge. Chairs and blankets are welcomed.
