Harold "Hal" Bailey, 80 of Lancaster, died June 16, 2007, at FairfieldMedical Center. He was a 20 year member of the Maple Grove United Brethren Church in Christ. Hal was a WW II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Forces as a staff sergeant. He met his wife, Arlene, while stationed at the Army Depot in Columbus.
Hal spent a number of years in the restaurant industry including operating the B&K Restaurant in Logan and 20 years in real estate in Lancaster,
He is survived by is loving wife of 59 years, Arlene Bailey; daughters, Melissa Bailey of Lancaster, Kim Bailey Grace of Reno, NV and Pam (Lloyd) Bailey Guzek of Kingwood, TX; sons, Marc (Cathy) Bailey and Doug (Barb) Bailey all of Roswell, GA; grandchildren, Jordan, Jade, Andrew, Craig, Ben, Jessica and Drew; sister, Lola (Bill); brothers, Bud and Wyman (Jean); sister-in-law, Carol Ann; numerous nieces and nephews all of southern Indiana; and faithful companion, Webster.
Hal was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Mary; sisters, Juanita and Ruth; and brothers, Paul and Bob. A funeral service was held June 20, 2007, at the Maple Grove United Brethren Church in Christ, Baltimore with Pastor Michael Willis officiating. Burial followed in Maple Grove Cemetery. Veteran's burial rites were performed by the Baltimore V.F.W. Post 3761.
