Spay, neuter clinics set

NEWARK - The Licking County Department of Animal Control is offering a low cost spay/neuter program in Licking County. Dr. Gonzalez and the RASCAL Unit (Roaming Animal Sterilization Clinic at Low cost) are returning to the Newark area on a monthly basis to perform low cost dog and cat spay and neutering.

Beginning Monday, June 25, the Licking County Department of Animal Control will begin accepting registrations for the first cat clinic on August 25 and the first dog clinic on August 26. Registrations are accepted during regular shelter hours Monday thru Friday, 11:00 am to 4:30 pm and Saturday, noon to 4:00 pm. Payment is required at the time of registration and is non-refundable.

The cost for a cat spay is $50 and a cat neuter is $40. The cost for a dog spay ranges from $55 - $130, while the cost for a dog neuter ranges from $45 - $130 based upon the weight of the dog.

Rabies vaccination is required in order for RASCAL to spay or neuter your pet. There will be an additional $7 charge for all rabies vaccinations administered if your pet does not have a current rabies certificate.If your pet has a current rabies certificate,please bring it to registration. In addition, proof of license is required for all dogs. If your dog is not licensed you may purchase your license at the time of registration.

Space is limited so schedule your pet's spay or neuter now. Additional clinic dates will be announced.
