ODOT's orange barrels are out in full force

By Scott Rawdon

JACKSONTOWN- It's nearly summer and ODOT's orange barrels are in full blossom.

Orange barrel season means it's also time to drive with particular care in construction zones. In 2006, there were 19 fatalities and 2,101 injuries in Ohio construction zones. On average nationally, there is one work zone fatality every seven hours. ODOT reports that motorists are four times more likely to have an accident in work zones than on the open road. Remember fines are doubled in construction zones.
