The BLASST is coming up fast

Well this Saturday, at 6:30 a.m. Eddie Hulls will be greeting his 108 golfers who will converge on Harbor Hills Country Club for the Annual Redneck Golf Outing to benefit BLASST. On the greens will be 48 hole sponsor signs thanking those donors. While golfing, these ladies and gentlemen will have a chance to hit a hole in one to win a Polaris four wheeler which, was donated by Frank Correll from the Toy Store in Thornville. After this community spirited outing, the golfers will head to the AMVETS Post 51 in Thornport which is this year's designated 19th hole. At the after party, the golfers will enjoy a great meal donated by the AMVETS. Everybody is welcome to join the Redneck women and golfers supporting this fundraising venture for our tri-county fireworks display over Buckeye Lake on July 3. Please come join us while we have a BLASST!

Also last weekend, AMVETS had a 50/50 drawing to benefit BLASST, adding $205 for our annual show. A big thank you to the folks at the AMVETS Post 51!

Marty, Bud and I need your help to light up the lake before the fireworks. It doesn't matter if you do it with flares or luminaries, but please make an effort to do one or the other. Millersport Hardware always orders in extra flares, but it seems it's never enough. Please either call and preorder the amount of flares you need or buy them early. You can reach Jeff or Keith at 467-2500 at Millersport Hardware. If you need luminaries, they should be available at Buckeye Lake Marina and Buckeye Lake Hardware by the end of next week. Both places will also have replacement bags, bulbs and plastic parts.

If you are looking for BLASST tank tops for men and women, or T-shirts for children, you should be able to get them at either Buckeye Lake Marina or Harbor Hills Country Club. Also the following businesses have been kind enough to sell BLAAST T-shirts as well: T. C. Market, CatfishCharley's, Pizza Cottage, Millersport Hardware, Millersport General Store, Home Town Hot Dogs, White Cottage, Beachcomber, Copper Penny and Island House.

Last but not least, Rhonda Carte got our new website up and running. Eventually all our information, fun stuff and the history of the Buckeye Lake Fireworks will be available to all you web surfers. Our web address is www.blasst.org for all you computer folks. It's so new I don't even know what's on there yet. Rhonda was basically getting information from The Beacon because we haven't had time to sit down together to work on it. God Bless her! More information will be added when time allows.

One more plea to those of you who are not already on our mailing list. Please consider writing a tax deductible check to BLASST, 13284 West Bank Rd. Millersport Ohio 43046 and support this huge tri-county community event. Until next week…

Victoria Wolfe BLASST Co-Chair
