Dawes Arboretum - Ohio 13, three miles north of I-70.

27th Ohio Regional Bonsai Show- Saturday and Sunday, June 9 & 10. Saturday, noon - 7pm and Sunday, 11am - 5pm. Experience the art of bonsai at the 27th annual Ohio Regional Bonsai Show. Free demonstrations will be on going throughout the weekend. Vendors will be on the Visitors Center Deck beginning at 8am each day. Free, meet at the Visitors Center.

Night Hike- Friday, June 15, 9 - 11pm, With a chorus of frogs and toads to sing us on our way, the Naturalist is going to lead a charming evening tromp over the Oak Trail. Join in the hike and findout what the music is all about and what constellations are right above our heads. Free meet at the Visitors Center Deck.

Woody Plant Health Care: Maintenance & Identifying Problems Saturday, June 16, 9 - 11am, Presented will be current methods of identifying, monitoring and managing various stresses that affect woody plants. The group will tour The Arboretum and discuss examples of the more common problems associated with landscape plant material. Students are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes for the Saturday walk. $20/$15 members, reservation required, meet at the Visitors Center.

Wondering About Weeds, Saturday, June 23, 10am - noon.Meet Arboretum Taxonomist, Dr. David Brandenburg, and Display Gardens Manager, Ann Marie Creamer, to find out what's growing around you and learn some interesting information about these tenacious survivors. Dr. Brandenburg will talk about the identificationof common and uncommon weeds in your yard and garden. For truly tricky plants, he'll show how to prepare preserved samples that can be submitted to an extension service agent or other professionals who can identify them. Then, Ann Marie Creamer will discuss how to deal with common weeds found in the home landscape. She'll take a look at what to avoid (such as landscape fabric) and what really works (like flame weeding)! Bring flowering or fruiting samples of weeds you're dealing with at home to hear about how to handle them. $10/$8 members, reservation required, meet at the Zand Education Center.

Preschool Story Time - Buckeye Lake. Buckeye Lake Library is hosting Preschool Story Time on Mondays at 11 a.m. from June 4 through June 25. This story time is aimed at children ages 3 to 5 and includes stories, songs, finger plays, puppets and crafts. Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes. Preschool Story Time - Hebron. The Hebron Library is hosting a story time called Treasure Hunt Adventures for children in kindergarten through fifth grade on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. from June 5 to July 10. Cruisin' On The Commons - Millersport. Coming to Historic Lions Park, Friday, June 15, 5 8 pm, is the Millersport Lions' second car show of the summer. Only $5 per vehicle gets your car, motorcycle or truck entered into the show. Registration is from 5 7 pm. Trophies awarded at 7:30 pm. Winners will be chosen by the trophy sponsors. There will be games, music, trivia, prizes and food is available. Historic Lions Park is located on Chautauqua Blvd in Millersport only a block from Buckeye Lake's south shore. Open Bog Day - Buckeye Lake. Explore the ancient mysteries of the Cranberry Bog Saturday, June 23. Guided tours by the Greater Buckeye Lake Historical Society are from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m with no reservations necessary. The society is asking a $10 per person donation and $5 for children 5-18. + Basketfest Reunion - June 8- 10, A reunion for all of your favorite Longaberger friends and family! The weekend will highlight the history and heroes of basketmaking while treating guests to a whole new basket experience.

+ Independence Day Celebration - June 30, Come home to Longaberger Homestead for a small town festival and a fabulous 30-40 minute fireworks display, inflatable games, live music and menus from the backyard grill.

"Third Annual Cruisin' at The Works" - Newark. The Works museum in downtown Newark will host its "Third Annual Cruisin' at The Works," Saturday, June 9 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Admission is free. Over 100 classic cars are expected to be on display in the museum parking lot. Cars may be registered from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Registration fee is $5 per car, with dash plaques for the first 150 registrants. Trophies will be awarded at 7:30. Other activities will include door prizes, a 50/50 raffle and a Junior JEGS Gravity Race in the museum's Go Lab. Racers will be divided into three age groups: 6-9 year olds; 10-12 year olds; and 13 years and up. A winner and runner up will be chosen for each age group. The first 200 kids will receive a free JEGS High Performance hat.
