Firebowl 2007 raises $3,721

If you take one bowling alley (Starlite Lanes), add 37 bowlers, mix with an abundance of spectators and a crazy lady running corner to corner, you have Firebowl 2007-Thurston Proud.

On May 5th volunteers came together to support of Village Fire Department and raised $3,721.00. Every bowler received a door prize courtesy of Time Warner, Lancaster.

Steven Lavendar collected the most funds and received a Family Four Pack of Backwoods Fest tickets. Joe Hill won Men's High Score and his wife, Holly Hill, won Women's High Score. Christopher Doomy won the cake raffle and shared his cake with his team. Mary Barber won the cooler in the $100 drawing. Taylor Azbell drew the winning tickets for all the drawings of the event.

Steven Lavendar, John Layton, John Addison, & Kelley Kohler all raised over $150 to be in "Ria's Drawing".

My thanks to Brad Williams for donating the use of the lanes & bowling shoes and to Teresa for serving the bowlers with a smile. My thanks to the bowlers who did the hard part of collecting money from sponsors and to all the people who donated their hard-earned money. My many thanks to our village firepersonnel for the job you do every time the call comes in and the trucks go out. Most of all, thanks to all who allow me to be the crazy lady who runs from corner to corner to get the job done!

It is an honor and privilege to serve the community. Thank you and in friendship, Ria Fox Thurston
