Charles C. Wright
Charles C. Wright passed into the arms of his Lord Jesus on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He was born May 13, 1934, to Clayton Orville Wright and Myrtle Hazel (Harding) Wright in Columbus. Charlie graduated from Liberty Union High School in 1952 and The Ohio State University, earning a B.S. in Animal Sciences in 1957. He farmed for over 40 years near Baltimore and was active on the Liberty Township Zoning Committee, involved in many farming organizations, and recently enjoyed activities at Olivedale Senior Center. Charlie was a member of Lancaster Community Church, and previously had attended Faith Lutheran Church, Baltimore and St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lithopolis. Charlie had a heart for the Lord, enjoyed many Bible studies and volunteering with church activities, and sharing God's message of salvation with everyone he met.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Phyllis; daughter, Melissa (Andy) Sponseller; granddaughter, Alison Sponseller all of Columbus; mother, Hazel Wright of Lancaster; brothers, Dr. Howard (Elizabeth) Wright of Washington Court House and Dr. Wallace (Ann) Wright of Mansfield; brother-in-law, William (Sandra) Steinmetz; and sistersin law, Eloise (Stanley) Mertz all of Lancaster and Martha (Fielding) Massie of Jackson; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and countless family friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Clayton and brother, Clement Wright.
Funeral services were held May 7 at Lancaster Community Church with Pastor Ron Grubb officiating. Burial followed in Basil Memorial Cemetery, Baltimore.
