Building a Stone Retaining Wall- Saturday, May 12, 10am - 1pm, Stone retaining walls are practical hardscaping elements and they're also simple to construct. Learn by doing during this handson workshop where you'll find out what tools and techniques are required to construct one of these sturdy and versatile structures in your landscape. $15/$8 members, reservation required, meet at the Visitors Center Deck.
Plant Sale & Auction- Saturday, May 19, 10am - 2pm, The most important function of the year, for Dawes and for you! It's as basic as who we are. Planting trees and shrubs enhances your life and improves the environment. An incredible assortment of rare trees and shrubs are offered at reasonable prices at this event. The vast majority of these plants cannot be found in garden centers and nurseries. A silent auction of choice specimens will also take place. Horticulturists will be on hand to answer your plant questions and offer planting advice. Free, meet at the Horticulture Complex.

Wild Turkey Festival - McArthur, May 3 - 6. Watch the downtown streets of McArthur come alive with food, music and fun for the whole family during the wild Turkey Festival. Activities include nightly entertainment, carnival rides and games, car show, quilt show, queen's and baby contests. Columbus Parent Expo - Columbus. Columbus Parent Magazine EXPO, presented by Grange Insurance, returns to the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium, but the 2007 event will expand to two days, taking place Saturday May 5 and Sunday May 6 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The EXPO will take place at Water's Edge Events Park at the Zoo. With more than 100 exhibitors, the Expo will offer guests everything imaginable for parenting children of all ages.
The EXPO is a fun, free, easy and convenient way for families to see, buy and learn all about the products and services needed for their children. EXPO passes are available, free of charge, at central Ohio-area businesses. and include FREE admission to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. (Passes do not include rides or parking, which is $5 per car.) Super Chevy Spring - Hebron. Traditionally a fall event, the 2007 Super Chevy Show at National Trail Raceway is set for May 4-6, featuring bracket racing for ALL GM brands, Nitro Coupes, Jets, Wheelstanders, Car Show, Manufacturers Midway and Swap Meet.
