Sarah Margaret Hickman

A funeral service for Sarah Margaret Hickman, age 83, of Reynoldsburg, was held April 22, 2007, at the Heath Chapel of Henderson Van Atta Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Bob Beyer officiating. Burial followed in Jacksontown Cemetery.

Mrs. Hickman died April 18, 2007, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 16, 1923 in Jacksontown to the late Allen W. and Winifred (Blade) McFarland.

Mrs. Hickman was a loving mother and grandmother and devoted her life to her family. She spent many years acting as den mother or room mother and attending numerous county fairs, school sporting events and 4-H activities involving her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Jacksontown United Methodist Church and participated in fundraising and worked on behalf of the American Legion, American Red Cross and Girl Scouts of America. An accomplished golfer, she spent many years in the Ft. Myers, Florida area enjoying the many golf courses. She also loved boating at Buckeye and Indian lakes. A loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Ohio State football and basketball, she rarely missed a game for her favorite teams.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert W. Hickman; two sons, Robert (Diane) Cadegan of Reynoldsburg and Jerry (Sharon) Cadegan of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; two daughters, Patricia (Jim) Penny of Lakeview and Linda (Cappoziello) and Mike Haley of Groveport; daughter-in-law, Diana Drumm of Jacksontown; 10 grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and one greatgreat grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Roger Drumm; two brothers, Dale McFarland and Don Mc- Farland; and three sisters, Irene Walters, Mary Cooperider and June Keaser.
