Charles Eugene Craig

Private funeral services will be observed for Charles Eugene Craig, 77 who passed away April 16, 2007 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 6, 1930 in New Straitsville, Ohio to the late Edward and Myrtle Craig. Charles is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Sorrell Craig, daughters Charlotte Nelson, Buckeye Lake; Betty (Richard) Browning, Texas; Myrtle (Gilbert) Rios, Newark; and son Charles E. Craig, Jr., Buckeye Lake; brother Robert (Greta) Craig, Dover, Delaware; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Army (1945 * 1948) serving in Alaska and a veteran of the U.S. Navy (1948 * 1950) serving in England, Italy and Africa. He was a charter member of the VFW Post 1388 Buckeye Lake; a member of the FOE Eagles Buckeye Lake and American Legion Post 58, Somerset. He was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening during his active life. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Betty Reynolds and Dorothy Campbell, brothers Bill and James Craig; and sonin law George F. Nelson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Charles to the VFW Post 1388 Building Fund or Hospice of Central Ohio. Rodman Funeral Service/Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society.
