Time to volunteer for Day of Caring

NEWARK - Licking County United Way is holding its 13th Annual Day of Caring on Friday, June 15, from noon to 5 p.m. at numerous project sites throughout Licking County.

Day of Caring is about neighbors helping neighbors. It is an opportunity for individual volunteers and teams from businesses, faith based organizations, schools and neighborhoods to provide needed services in communities throughout Licking County.

"We are pleased that so many individuals will be able to participate and have an immediate impact in communities across the county," said Donna L. Carpenter, Licking County United Way's executive director.

Approximately 300 volunteers participated in last year's event, and United Way is hoping to increase participation this year with increased site locations and various project opportunities.

Carpenter said sponsors also play a vital role in helping make Day of Caring possible. Sponsors provide food, entertainment and water. Sponsors can also provide supplies to help complete projects.

Anyone who would like to sponsor or participate in United Way's Day of Caring should contact Jo Fedor at info@lcuw.net or 345-6685 by Friday, May 4.
