John R. Dowd

J o h n R. Dowd , 7 8 o f Baltimore, died Monday, April 9, 2007, at his residence. He was a retired brick mason with over 50 years of service.

Mr. Dowd was a Korean Conflictveteran serving in the US Army. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Worthington, American Legion, NRA, and Olivedale Senior Citizens.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Dowd; children, Michael (Frances) Dowd of Pueblo, CO, Catherine Stimmel of Pueblo West, CO, Maureen (Frank) Marincich of Pueblo, CO, Patrick (Peggy) Shunk of Lansdale, PA, and Betty Jane Light of Boone, IA; five grandchildren, Katie Stimmel, Jaime, Kelli and Connor Dowd, and Heather Light; son-inlaw, Tom Stimmel of Delaware; step-children, Debbi (Greg)


Alderdice of Thurston and Lisa Barr of Viera FL; step grandchild, Renee Alderdice; brother, Robert (Jean) Dowd of Mentor, OH; special sisters-in-law, Fran Dowd of Beaver Creek, OH and Jean Dowd of Wickliffe, OH; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to FairHoPe hospice for their help.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie L. Dowd; parents, Frank and Jane Dowd; three brothers, Paul, Jerry, and Edward Dowd. A Funeral Mass was held April 13, 2007, at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Fr. James Coleman Celebrant. Entombment was in Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, following the service.
