Morgan G. Dellinger, Jr.

A funeral service for Morgan G. Dellinger, Jr., age 77, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Thornville, was held March 14, 2007, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. Robert Knox officiating. Burial followed in Jacksontown Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Dellinger died March 8, 2007, at Hospice Family Care in Masa, AZ . He was born October 27, 1929, in York, Pennsylvania to the late Morgan, Sr. and Esta (Shellenberger) Dellinger.

Mr. Dellinger entered the service at age 17 and served 22 1/2 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1969 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer.After the service, he worked for the U.S. Government for four years and drove semi truck for 19 years. He retired to Arizona in 1991 and loved every minute of it.

Mr. Dellinger was proud of all of his kids, especially Danny, who was following in his shoes as career military.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Doris L. (Collins) Dellinger of Mesa, AZ; three children, Chris, Gil and Sharon; four step-children, Trudy (Myron) Boetticher of Groveport, Ohio, Terry (Rob) Hamilton of Columbus, Tony (Kelly) Flagg of Thornville and Tami (Randy) Wilson of Harrisburg, PA; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, the last being named Morgan Elaine after Grandpa; brothers, Richard (Phyllis) Dellinger of Dallastown, PA and Robert (Ann) Dellinger of GA; sister, Anna (Al) Fauth of York, PA; special brother-in-law and wife, Ed and Dee Collins; and many friends and neighbors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
