Betty Rose Stockton
A funeral service celebrating the life of Betty Rose Stockton, 8, of Columbus, formerly of Hebron, will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, February 16, 2007, in the chapel of the Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville, with burial to follow in Kirkersville Cemetery.
Betty died Monday after a long illness. She was born in Columbus on January 15, 1925, the daughter of the late Ruth and Merle Garwick.
On January 9, 1945, she married John Edward Stockton, who preceded her in death on June 14, 1980.
She will be remembered for her strong Christian faith and commitment to her family.
She was a former member of the Fairfield Beach United Methodist Church, and a founding member of the Buckeye Lake Area Historical Society. She had been employed in Columbus for the Schottenstein Stores.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Sue Stermer of Columbus; sons, John Daniel Stockton of Fayetteville, NC, and William Ray Stockton of Columbus; her four grandsons and six granddaughters, and her brother Jack Garwick of Michiana Shores, MI.
