Jack D. "Jocko" Marriott

Jack D. "Jocko" Marriott, age 60, of Newark, died February 10, 2007, at his home.

He was born August 14, 1946, in Newark to Leo Marriott of Lancaster and Betty (Harger) Marriott of Heath.

Mr. Marriott served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Holophane and did airbrushing as a side job. He also worked for Jack Hood Trucking. Mr. Marriott loved being an artist and everyone knew him for his art "Pair-A-Dice". He was also an avid NASCAR fan.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jean (Johnson) Marriott; daughters, Debbie Rice and Rhonda Marriott both of Newark; son, Dakota Dale Marriott of Newark; grandchildren, Nikkie, Danny, Ed, Cody, Chelsea, Sarah, Lindsey, Tanisha, Austin, J.J., Jake, Julian and Brandon; brothers, Bill (Beverly) Marriott of Newark and Wayne Marriott of Buckeye Lake; sisters, Donna (Chuck) Roberts of Newark, Janie (Bill) Jones of Hebron and Dorothy Carol Boyles of Newark; brother-in-law, Joseph Johnson of Newark; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Pam and Greg Mays.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Mossholder and a son, Dennis Allen Marriott.
