Auction grows for 'A Night Out for Dennis'

MILLERSPORT - Saturday, February 10 will be a special night at Millersport Elementary School.

The PTO and students are holding another benefit for their friend, Dennis Channel. The group hopes that "A Night Out for Dennis" will not only raise money for his now sixyear battle against brain cancer, but provide an opportunity for everyone to spend quality time with their families.

"A Night Out for Dennis" starts with a spaghetti dinner from 5-7:30 p.m. at the elementary school cafeteria. Meal prices are $6 per adult and $4 per child. During dinner there will be classroom basket drawings, a silent auction, door prizes and more fun.

The silent auction has taken off. Here's some of the items that will be offered for the auction: OSU autographed football and basketball; hand crafted, Adirondack furniture; luggage; Longaberger baskets; theme baskets put together by local businesses; jewelry; exercise equipment and exercise club memberships; tanning packages; garden bench; digital camera; safe; overnight packages including Cherry Valley Lodge; photography package; Chiropractic services package; train set; deerhead mounting; glassware; meat package; and officefurniture. Bidders don't need to be present to win.

A family dance in the auditorium from 6:30-8:30 p.m. is the highlight of the evening. Admission is $2 per person.

Everyone is invited to join in the fun.
